Ray’s Canoe Hideaway has been renting kayaks for decades, and the Braden River is where you’ll see the real Florida. The three-hour paddle takes you through mangrove tunnels where you’re almost guaranteed to spot manatees, herons, and maybe even a gator sunning on the bank (don’t worry, they’re chill). They open at 9 AM daily, but I recommend booking ahead on weekends. Bring bug spray—the mosquitoes didn’t get the memo about sharing.
